The rooms were very comfortable.
The staff were very unfriendly. Usually when we check into a hotel the services and facilities of the hotel are explained to us. For example if there is a pool we are told about it. We were told nothing. We choose to eat off site to avoid the unfriendly staff. Very dissappointing. I have been travelling in France for the last 3 months and have been writing for a travel amagazine whilst I have been away. This hotel will be reported in the magazine as being one not to stay in.

Beautiful and historic setting with exceptional food. The contemporary interior made an interesting contrast with the ancient buildings.

The staff were very accommodating and welcoming. The food was incredible and service impeccable. The bedroom was tastefully decorated. The hotel is in a Cathar castle; we found it evocative to stay in a place with such history. The far-reaching view from the bedroom window across the countryside was breath-taking.
The location of the hotel means that temperatures can soar in the summer months. With temperatures reaching 38 degrees during our stay, the hotel would certainly benefit from air-conditioning to allow for a more comfortable night's sleep.
